My plans for Seniors Includes:

Appointing an ombudsman for senior communities & Continuing Care Retirement Homes

An Ombudsman is an appointed official that investigates complaints and issues between parties. If elected, I will appoint an ombudsman to to introduce a different means to communicate effectively on behalf of our seniors. This would be beneficial for them as they would have a mediator between them and the company for any issues that may arise.

Creating transportation for seniors

For new facilities, I will propose changes in master plan of transportation or preliminary plan of subdivision to include transportation for seniors in senior communities. This is important for our seniors because it increases socialization and independence, which keeps isolation and depression at bay.

Eliminating bag tax for senior citizens

The bag tax is a regressive tax for seniors who are often times on fixed income. Bags should not be a profit center for retailers, and it should not be a burden placed on the consumer.
